Gmail adds new Chat features

Google still insists on calling instant messaging "Chat", although that word has a much different meaning to most internet users.

- If she had someone in the passenger seat, wouldn't it have been wise to hand the baby to that person, who could have then reached in the back (it's an SUV after all, it's not like it was a small vehicle) and put the baby in the car seat--all while dodging the "aggressive paparazzi"?

- This is very interesting. I love the idea that I open Gmail to send someone an email, notice they're online and available, and send them an IM instead. In an office setting, this could be invaluable.
